Whenever there is the sound of abundance of rain, or whenever the Holy Spirit hints you as to the fact that this is a season of rain. It simply means the clouds have been prepared and are full of rain (divine blessings of all kinds, supernatural results and manifestations in all areas of life, ascension in your walk with God etc.). Thus, He wants you to be aware so you can be rightly postured to receive them.
Whenever you hear this, it simply means that these things are accessible and possible. They are meant to be released in that time. But then, whether you would physically handle them or appropriate them as yours is dependent on your response in that season. What usually follows this season is a corresponding instruction to pray.
As Zechariah 10:1 says, ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain. Then the rain will fall. So the principle here is that, a man must know when it is the season of rain, and when it is season, it is not automatic that rain would fall.
It is then that the man should be rightly postured to PRESS IN PRAYERS to harness the rain in its fullness.
So, until you ASK (ENGAGE IN INTENTIONAL & FOCUSED PRAYERS) the Lord for rain in the time of rain, you would never get rain, not even a drop of water would come down.
This therefore means that the season of rain is tantamount to a season of intentional and focused prayers. The wisest thing to do therefore is not to wait for rain, but to pray that the rain scheduled to fall in that season falls as scheduled.
This principle played out in the life of the Prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 18:41-46. After a three year drought, he had told ahab without mincing words, having heard from God that there was The SOUND OF ABUNDANCE OF RAIN. He told Ahab to go eat and drink, but He went and prayed until the rain came Now Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is the sound of the roar of an abundance of rain.” So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he crouched down to the earth and put his face between his knees,
1 KINGS 18:41-42 AMP
He literally prayed the rain down, refusing to move until He saw the tangible release of the rain. So he waited until it came.
It becomes clear that Prayer is very important to birth, even ordained realities, promised provisions and scheduled visitations. Thus, we must be wise to learn to ask the Lord for rain in the time when it is ordained to be released.
Which is why we must remain in consistent intimate fellowship with the Father by His Spirit so we can be in season with God so as to know what He is doing so we can be rightly postured to respond accurately by intentional and focused prayers so as to maximize the seasons of rain. Then, that which has been ordained to rain can be tangibly ours…
